Bloody January!

January didn't get off to the best of starts with multiple injuries and lots of blood!

Our first game back after a long break was against Ocean Rangers. A win would see us leapfrog the opposition into fourth place and the first half seemed to point us in that direction. Good work from Kieran and Jimmy meant that Will could tap in for his first league goal of the season before Toby hit an absolute belter from 30 yards to put us 2-0 up at the break.

However, things went wrong soon into the second period as Percy's first involvement in eight months resulted in him heading an opponent rather than the ball and being forced off the pitch with a suspected broken nose. We failed to re-group and Ocean ran riot in the second half, capitalising on some poor marking and a series of comedy errors to run out 4-2 winners.

This past weekend we were firmly in the role of underdogs as the cup pitted us against Raynes Park UCFC 1sts who have been in great form in the division above. With several midfielders away we had to tweak the formation slightly but this seemed to work well early on with Rob having the first big chance of the game with a long range effort that the goalkeeper saved. Unfortunately the resulting dropkick caused havoc with a missed header and slip putting the visitors 1-0 up.

Despite the defeat, Falcons did come away with a lot of credit, battling hard throughout to keep the better team on their toes.

Next weekend we face London Koreans as we aim to close the gap on fourth place and hopefully not lose any more players!
