The fixtures for 2017/18 have now been released and we're also happy to say we're moving home!
After two years at Wandsworth Common, the time has come to find a new home venue and we're delighted to be playing our fixtures at the excellent facilities offered by Barn Elms Sports Trust in Barnes. Those who hated the long walk back to the changing rooms at Wandsworth will be glad to know the rooms are now right by the pitches!
Our season begins with a tricky GFSN Cup preliminary round away trip to Liverpool as we face Mersey Marauders. Despite a strong record against them in the GFSN league in recent years, Mersey got the better of Falcons in the cup finals of 2013 and 2016 so we'll be hoping to make it third time lucky on September 2nd! The winners will have a home fixture in the first round in October against either East End Phoenix or London Leftfooters.
The defence of our London Unity League title will start on September 10th at home to Bexley Invicta. Bexley were the form team for much of 2017 so this fixture provides an early chance to see how they have pushed on over the summer. The tail end of the season sees us face last year's runners-up, Romans Gladiators, twice in the final three fixtures and under new management.
In addition to the league action, Falcons will also be participating in the Soho 9-aside tournament and Titans 11-side tournament in October. However, everything builds towards an exciting trip to Paris in August 2018 as Falcons participate in the Gay Games.
