On June 10th we held our annual End of Season Awards night and, with league winners medals to go around, it was quite the evening!
Six awards were handed out and the winners were:
Most Improved Player: Stevie (who said hello via video from California)
Golden Boot: Chris and Olu
Best Goal: John
Clubman: Andrew
Players' Player: Alex
Manager's Player: Brady
It was also a night of change as Dean and Ritchie stepped down from the committee after steering the club from near-collapse two years ago to league champions by the time they departed. They will be replaced by Andrew as the club secretary and Matt as our new chairman.
There was also a passing on of the captain's armband, with Conal stepping down from the role after two years. We're delighted to say that Brady will be our captain for the 2017/18 season, following a fine season in which he was the only player to start every game.
Needless to say there were quite a few laughs along the way as Pete delved through 12 months of social media (and certain other applications!) to relive some of our players' less successful moments both on and off the pitch.
There was also the announcement of a new home venue in Barnes for 2017/18 and a sneak preview of our new home and away kits.
2016/17 was a memorable season that we will look back on fondly. It's now our job to top it when we return to action!
