September saw some tough competition among the players for the season’s first monthly award but Player of the Month was awarded to Tom Baker.
Manager Pete Ransom provided his thoughts…
“September was a fantastic start to the season for Falcons. After an encouraging performance in the Leicester Tournament we took maximum points from our three league games and everyone played their part.
“Chris Judd was a strong contender with five goals including a first half hat trick against Soho. Alex Bernal was tremendous from the moment he came off the bench in the opening game. However, Tom’s improvement over the month was really impressive. He’s got tremendous energy and has played more minutes than anyone else in the season so far. He proved this by winning the end of month beep test in training. He also added end product to his tackling and passing by scoring his first goal against Bexley and then putting in a peach of a cross for me to score (lesson to the other boys – assists win prizes!)
“Overall it’s been a really strong start on the pitch and a great bunch of guys off the pitch. We’ve got a bit of work to do defensively but it’s been a pleasure to manage so far. Long may that continue!”
Congratulations Tom!
