Falcons wrapped things up for the 2015/16 season with the annual End of Season Awards night at Ku Soho last week.
It was a pleasure to see all of the regular, committed players in attendance. Without them the club would have struggled considerably more than we did this year.
The big winner of the night was Conal, who deservedly picked up the Players’ Player of the Season for his herorics in two penalty shoot-outs and for his tremendous appearance record and loyalty to the club.
James Nolan also had a great evening as he grabbed the Top Scorer award for his goals in both the LUL and GFSN, and also the Most Improved Player. Not bad for someone who spent most of last season being mocked by a drag queen for his poor scoring record!
In a very tight decision, Louis just edged out Josh for the Best Newcomer after impressing the committee with his energy up front this year. The committee also recognised the hard work of Kieran in recruiting new players by nominating him as Clubman of the Season. Bruce wasn’t able to make it but he was awarded best goal for his long range lob against Birmingham.
Finally, Pete picked up Manager’s Player of the Season with Ritchie highlighting his willingness to play in different positions and the all-round contribution to Falcons.
Not too surprisingly, there was quite a lot of beer drunk with a wonderful atmosphere and the boys are already looking forward to 2016/17.
Pre-season training starts in mid-July!
